Happy 3 Months Sawyer!!!

3 MONTHS!

This cannot be? Surely my sweet Sawyer is not already 3 months old!! Ahhhhh!!!

I am loving every single minute of being your mommy. I was just telling your daddy last night that each day when I look at you I still cannot believe you are mine. I am thankful that God chose us to be your parents. You are one amazing gift from above. Three months ago on this exact day you made my world complete!

Let’s clear this up, you still look JUST like your daddy and you are PERFECT just the way you are. Everyone says so! But you must know that I examine you each day to see if you are changing at all, still holding out a little hope that you have some of your momma in you J I think you have my eyes and lips so far.

There were a lot of “firsts” this month for you!

1.    Went on your FIRST beach trip
2.  Attended your very FIRST wedding
3.  Daddy gave you your FIRST mohawk
4.    You dressed up and celebrated your very FIRST Halloween
5.    Mommy & Daddy gave you your FIRST (tiny) bite of chocolate cake
6.  Sat in your bumbo seat for the FIRST time
7.  "Voted" in your FIRST Presidential Election
8.    You started your FIRST day of baby school at Noah’s Park
9.    You came down with your FIRST cold :(
10.    Had your FIRST bottle of apple juice – doctor recommend it
     for your pitiful cold
11.    FIRST visit to “D’s” work and he was so proud to show you off!
12. FIRST time to spend the day playing with "Aunt BB" and Campbell
13. Put up your very FIRST Christmas tree in your room!!

You are growing like a weed and you are so much fun!!! You are smiling and interacting with us all of the time now and you have begun to “try to talk” to us. We love it!

“Baby School” – You started your very first day of Noah’s Park on Monday, November 5, 2012 and you did GREAT. Mommy, not so much….whew that was a rough day and week for me. I love your precious teachers Ms. Donna and Ms. Beth, they are amazing and they love you so very much!

You are still sleeping every night right beside Mommy and Daddy in the pack n’ play/nap nanny or in your snugabunny rocker beside our bed. You are not really into swinging in your swing anymore. Your very favorite place to be is  STILL on your changing table – you LOVE it. If you are fussy at all we just take you into your room and lay you on your changing table and you are always perfectly content. You are NOT a good napper – you take “cat naps” and most of them last no longer than 30 mins or so! But mommy can’t complain because you are a WONDERFUL sleeper at night. Most nights you are sleeping anywhere 10 hours or so before waking up for a feeding!! Most of the time you are  still taking between 3-4 oz every 2 ½ to 3 hours, you are really the same as last month with your eating. You still LOVE your baths and you take a bath at night around 7:30 – 8:00 and its always with mommy.  You love to be in the tub – now you get that from me sometimes we are even staying in for 30 minutes at a time! You are becoming fonder of your paci and you do like your paci. You are still in a size one diaper and and 3-6 month clothes you weigh approximately 14 lbs. now…big boy! You sure are growing! Your eyes are still blue and we crossing our fingers that they stay that way. Still no hair…mommy can’t wait for you to get some! You have super strong little legs and you are holding your head up so well.

1.    Nicknames for you so far  “Saw man” (most popular), “monkey” “monkey monkey monkey monk”, “rat-fink”, “fussy butt”, “saw bear”, “fat face”, “BOY”, “hungry bear”, “chunky monkey”, “little buddy”, “saw”, “buddy bud”, “little man”

Sawyer is TWO months old!

TWO MONTHS!

Where does time go? It is surely flying by!! Sawyer it is so hard to believe that you are already 2 months old. Today is October 17th and at 12:20 pm on August 17th we received the most wonderful gift- YOU! Your daddy and I are thoroughly enjoying you little guy, you are the best thing that we have ever done in our entire life!!! God has blessed us with a perfect baby boy!!!

This is a very sad post for mommy because this was my last full month at home with you. Mommy has to return to work in just a few short weeks on November the 1st L Each day when I wake up in the morning I am realizing that its one day closer to having to leave you at daycare and one day closer to me returning to work. I have been super lucky to have such a long time off work to spend with you and I am very thankful for such a wonderful job, but I already know that November 1st will be one of the hardest days of my life thus far. You feel sure that you will be in great hands at Noah’s Park and make lots of friends!!!

In your second month of life you have stayed alone with your Daddy and also spent some time with each set of your grandparents while mommy and daddy spent some time together! You did great each time and they all sure enjoyed keeping you! You are still sleeping every night right beside Mommy and Daddy in the pack n’ play/nap nanny or in your snugabunny rocker beside our bed. You like to swing in your swing and play on your activity mat, but most of all your very favorite place to be is on your changing table – you LOVE it. If you are fussy at all we just take you into your room and lay you on your changing table and you are always perfectly content. Your still not really into being along, its just not your thing – once you realize that your in your crib for a nap and I’m not there you go to screaming, I think you did set a record this month of being in your crib for a 3 hour nap, that did happen ONE time! Before 7 weeks or so you were still not sleeping great, but after advice from friends we tried swaddling you back up at night in the velcro swaddles and you are now doing sooooo much better. Most nights you are sleeping anywhere from 7-8 hours before waking up for a feeding!! You are not as much of hungry little bear as you were last month! I am thinking that you are over your “feeding frenzy” as Dr. Harmon described to us. Most of the time you are still taking between 3-4 oz every 2 ½ to 3 hours. You went through a spell where you would only take about 2 oz for us and then quit. Ohhhh and you are one heck of a “pooter” your “poots” are as loud and long as some adults poots, and guess what….they STINK! Last month I was bragging because they didn’t stink! I still call them your “pooty poots.” And whoa have you ever had some BLOW OUT poops in this last month. One time you even pooped through your outfit onto your Papa Jo Jo (he still hasn’t decided his name for sure, but that’s okay we know you will call him what you want too). He was a trooper and cleaned you up! Then mommy got one that went up your front and even made it to your belly button, ewwwww…..straight to the bathtub you went! Speaking of baths….you still LOVE your baths and you take a bath at night around 9:00 – 9:30 and its always with mommy now. You love to be in the tub – now you get that from me sometimes we are even staying in for 30 minutes at a time! You are becoming more fond of your paci and you do like your paci. You are now in a size one diaper and and 0-3 month clothes you weigh approximately 12 lbs. now….WOW! Your eyes are still blue and we crossing our fingers that they stay that way. Still no hair…mommy can’t wait for you to get some! You have super strong little legs and you are holding your head up so well. You go for your 2 month check up this Thursday and we will see how much you have grown length wise.

1.    Nicknames for you so far  “Saw man” (most popular), "Saw bear" (your daddy HATES this one- but any of you that have seen "Honey Boo Boo" know that I got it from Sugar Bear, lol) “monkey” , “hungry bear”, “chunky monkey”, “little buddy”, “saw”, “buddy bud”, “little man”

Sawyer you continue to bless our lives daily. We cannot imagine what we did before you? And we cannot imagine a life of this earth without you in it! God is so good and we feel blessed beyond words. We promise to always strive to be the very best parents that we can be and to raise you to know and love the Lord. Happy 2 Months Sawyer Maddox Leith!!!

Happy ONE month Birthday Sawyer!

ONE MONTH! Happy ONE month Birthday to you!

Sawyer it is so hard to believe that you are already 1 month old. Mommy already wishes that she could press “pause” on your life. You have brought a tremendous amount of love and joy into our lives and we cannot imagine life without you! We thank God each and every day for such a healthy, happy and beautiful baby boy! Sometimes when I look down at your sweet face I still cannot believe that you are actually MINE! You are just perfect! Your Daddy looked over at me as he was holding you on the couch after work one night last week and said,  “He is just perfect isn’t he?” He was beaming with pride as he said it and little man let me tell you – you have a WONDERFUL daddy. I wasn’t quite sure how he would do with you, but he is truly a terrific father and he loves you beyond words. It is wonderful to watch his love for you!

Speaking of love – you have SOOOO many people who love you! You have 3 sets of amazing grandparents and 1 set of great grandparents who all adore you. I am pretty sure that no matter what mommy and daddy say you will pretty much be able to convince any of them into anything…whew that’s scary! You have “aunts and uncles” and great family friends who can’t wait to get there hands on you as soon as they see you and you have little cousins who can’t wait for you to get big enough to play with them!! You are one LOVED little boy.

In your first month of life you have not been away from your Mommy at all, never. Your Daddy was able to spend your first week at home with us and we really enjoyed that, thank you Dr. Russell and Dr. Crowson for making that possible! You have spent every night right beside Mommy and Daddy in the pack n’ play/nap nanny or in your snugabunny rocker beside our bed. Your first outing was to Pediatrics East on Tuesday August 21st as we had to go and get you checked for jaundice. Luckily you were just fine! The next day you rode in the car to Southeastern Jewelers on 280 for mommy to buy a 3rd anniversary gift for your daddy, I wasn’t quite prepared since you decided to make an early appearance J. Your 3rd outing was to Lowes the cashier got on to me for having you out and about at only a week old!! I told her that you like to go, you were getting bored at home…. and you have been out and about ever since. We have gotten 2 sets of newborn photos made of you and absolutely cannot wait to see them! You took your first bottle on August 26th before bedtime and you did great- your daddy gave it to you. You lost your umbilical cord on your actual due date – August 30th and your Daddy was home to witness it. Mommy tried to save it and Daddy quickly threw it away – I cried and he sang “I’m a big boy now.” Remember opposites attract J

At home -you really love your swing – it is your favorite! You love to lay on your changing table and look around the room and up at the mirror that is above it. We are not quite sure how you feel about your doggies, they don’t seem to bother you or upset you at all when they lick your face or bark in your ear – it’s a good thing because anyone who has been here knows it’s a zoo around here!! You have adjusted quite well to them and they have adjusted well to you. Most of the time you enjoy car rides and do great in the car!  You do not wear out easily and do not “cry it out” maybe I’m not leaving you long enough, but you don’t seem to wear out – you keep crying and crying just like the energizer bunny would. Your Daddy would argue that you are just spoiled and maybe you are…I never expected to have a baby who wasn’t J Just last night as we were going to bed your Daddy said that Noah’s Park Daycare was going to call us and tell us to come and get you because you are so rotten. Your not really into being along, its just not your thing – once you realize that your in your crib for a nap and I’m not there you go to screaming, as a matter of fact this is happening just as I am typing! Did I mention that you are NOT a great sleeper? You get up at least twice a night, sometimes 3-4…I think you do it just to be held sometimes and know that I’m still there. I just found out from your Daisy that your Daddy did not sleep through the night until he was 22 months old, please please please I beg you Sawyer do not take after him! You are a hungry little bear….you LOVE to eat, eat, eat and I think that you would do it all day long if I would let you – by the way I do think I may be letting you eat too much, but I can’t let you be hungry! Most of the time you take between 3-4 oz every 2 ½ to 3 hours and at each feeding you suck it down quickly as if you haven’t eaten in days. Ohhhh and you are one heck of a “pooter” your “poots” are as loud and long as some adults poots, thank goodness they do not stink yet! I called them your “pooty poots.” Sawyer these last three things I have talked about come from your Daddy – bad sleeping, lots of eating and TONS of pooting. You take a bath at night around 9:00 – 9:30 and its either with mommy or daddy, you love to be in the tub – now you get that from me! YAY- finally something from mommy, I typically take 2-3 baths a day. You get a lotion rubdown and a bedtime story before bed every night. At first I wasn’t sure that you were going to take a paci, but you like your paci and so do your doggies, they have each eaten 1 so far! You DO NOT like the velcro swaddles and you will “pitch a big one” until you are taken out of it. You do like to be swaddled with a blanket and your Daddy is hands down the best at that- BUT you will also “pitch one” until mommy releases your hands free, you like your arms and hands free. You are still in a size newborn diaper and newborn and 0-3 month clothes we think you weigh approximately 8.3 lbs. You go for your 1 month check up this Thursday and we will see how much you have grown.

1.    Nicknames for you so far “chunky monkey”, “little buddy”, “saw”, “buddy bud”, “little man”

Sawyer you have the sweetest disposition and make our days so much brighter. We absolutely adore you and you are perfect in our eyes (even if you aren’t a great sleeper and are a little spoiled)! Thank you for coming into our lives and making us a family! Life is great – even though we want you to stay little, we know that you will grow and we can’t wait to watch you every step of the way!

And I will end with this – my favorite quote ever and I finally get to use it!

Before you were conceived
I wanted you
Before you were born
I loved you
Before you were here an hour
I would give my life for you
This is the miracle of life.
